From Basic: Zack Typing matches spacing and capitalization at the cursor to the text that is already there. This check runs locally on your PC.
Press your shortcut to start and stop, or hold it while you speak. By default, Zack Typing pauses other playback while you record; you can also mute it or leave it running.
The small recording bar above your app shows the status. Pause, stop or cancel the recording right there.
Zack Typing shows how long you have dictated, how fast you speak and roughly how much time you have saved compared with typing.
From Basic, choose a compact mini view, adjust the size and place the recording bar at the top or bottom of your screen.
“Improve” smooths awkward sentences, removes filler words and applies the corrections you make while speaking. Your tone stays the same.
“Shorten” removes repetition and detours while keeping requests and details. “Professional” makes the wording clear and polite for work, without softening requests or criticism.
Choose a chip during the recording, in the app or on the recording bar. “Original” takes you back to the first version at any time.
From Basic: Rename the chips and adjust their instructions. On every plan, “Custom instructions” hold preferences such as “Formal address”.
Add names, product names and technical terms to your personal dictionary so speech recognition picks them up better.
From Basic: If you turn it on, Zack Typing adds words you repeatedly correct after inserting to your dictionary. It asks first when a term is uncertain.
Choose the languages you dictate in, or let them be detected as you speak. You pick the microphone yourself.
After signing in, download the free Small offline model. Without a connection, or after you switch to it when credits run out, you keep dictating on your PC. Check that it supports your language.
Choose Medium or Large for recognition on your PC. Larger models need more memory and processing power.
Without a connection or an offline model, the recording is saved and can be transcribed later. Dictations recognized offline can be transcribed in the cloud afterwards.
Choose a recording or drag it into the Zack Typing window, for example MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG. Free processes up to two minutes of original audio per file; Basic supports longer files. This Free limit does not apply when using your own AI provider.
In your history, search, name, edit and delete the dictations you kept, and copy their text again when you need it.
Play recordings from the last 30 days, jump to the part you need and save them as audio files.
Send a dictation to the installed Zack KI app to ask questions about it or keep working on it.
Zack Typing stores dictations and recordings on your PC. You choose whether audio is saved and how long dictations stay, from seven days to indefinitely; audio goes after 30 days.
Start free with 500 credits and then 100 a week. Your plan and credits also apply in Zack KI, and you sign in with an email link or Google.
Use your own key, for example from OpenAI, Groq or Mistral, for dictation and chips. Your provider then bills you directly and no Zack credits are used.
Zack Typing can start with Windows and wait in the notification area. Set the theme, accent color, size, language, sounds and updates in the settings.
Online dictation, chips and the dictionary check require an internet connection and credits or your own API key. Offline dictation requires a previously installed, enabled model for your language. Compare plans
